Jam Doughnuts Recipe
Make sweet and delicious jam doughnuts using this recipe.
Ingredients
1½ cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
½ cup warm milk
2 egg yolks
3 tsp butter
1 tsp yeast
1 tsp lemon zest
Jam to fill
Procedure
Dissolve the sugar into half of the milk, add yeast and let it bloom
Sift the flour and add the sugar, lemon zest, salt and butter, then knead
Add the yeast mixture, egg yolks and mix while adding milk as you knead the dough
Continue kneading the dough for five more minutes, then set it aside in an oiled bowl for it to double in size
Divide the dough into balls of equal size and place them on a lightly floured surface and
Cover with a kitchen towel and allow them to puff again in 20 minutes
Deep fry in medium hot oil till brown, set them on paper towels to drain excess oil
Make a hole in the doughnut with a small knife
Fill a piping bag with jam and pipe into the doughnut until nicely swollen
Serve and eat immediately
