After casting his ballot at the Kericho voting station on Thursday, Keter praised the process, saying it was by far the 'greatest nomination ever,' and praising supporters for maintaining peace in the region.

"I want to thank the party, I think this is the best ever organized nominations exercise since I joined politics," Keter said.

"It has been a smooth election, there are no tensions at all in Kericho. I really want to thank the voters of Kericho, the turnout is perfect and they are exercising their democratic right at the right environment."

He also urged the party's National Elections Board (NEB) to stay impartial while overseeing the process till it is completed.

He asked all aspirants across the country to accept the results, stating that he is confident of winning the Kericho governorship seat.

"I want to thank the National Elections Board in the management of the elections and I want to urge them to be impartial,” Keter said.

"It’s a question of a few hours, by 6 or 7 the winner will be announced and of course it’s me by the look of things. All of us who are participating should accept the verdict of what will happen."

However other parts of the country have experienced hiccups in the election process including Bomet, Kakamega, Embu among others.

In the meantime, UDA National Elections Board (NEB) Chairman Anthony Mwaura expressed confidence that the primaries would go ahead as planned, stating that the only delays he had seen were logistical issues that had already been rectified.
