In a statement, UDA revealed that DP Ruto and his allies discussed various issues including the party's popularization progress ahead of the August polls and the party's partnership with Musalia Mudavadi's ANC party and Moses Wetangula's Ford Kenya.

"Members were appraised of the progress made so far in galvanizing the party's position in the country's political spectrum. Members also had the opportunity to vigorously interrogate and audit the party's platform for socio-economic transformation," UDA said.

During the meeting, the party members resolved to resist any attempt by the government to get more loans while vowing to oppose proposals and laws in parliament that they say are meant to increase taxes for mwananchi.

They also resolved that they will push for more allocations of funds to the devolved units.

"We look forward to participating vigorously in parliamentary business that will generate the pro-Huster measures and policies to address the urgent problems of the majority.

"We have resolved to amend the Budget Policy Statement in order to increase the allocation of resources to counties to 35 percent," the party said.

The party members also vowed to come up with policies that would help the country deal with natural calamities.
