Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi of the National Assembly and other Azimio La Umoja Members of Parliament rejected four nominated Cabinet secretaries under allegations that they are not fit for the position.

Among the CSS who were Nominated by President William Ruto whom they rejected are CS For Forestry and Tourism  Penina Malonza.

According to the Azimio MPs, the nominated CS unsatisfied her performance during the vetting exercise. 

This is after the lawmakers  kept on correcting Malonza severally as she often made errors by misquoting facts.

"She is timid and lacks coherence for the docket she has been nominated, which is crucial in marketing the country to the outside world.

"Her evading of questions during the vetting exercise makes her appointment doubtful,” a member of the Committee stated.

Another Nominated CS who was rejected by the MPs is Mithika Lenturi who disclosed that he is involved in 35 ongoing civil lawsuits in several courts to the Committee of Appointment, which is chaired by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula.

Linturi also didn't make it clear how he planned to change the Agriculture docket. How Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) crops would help farmers and how his platform coincided with the Kenya Kwanza agricultural goals were two crucial questions MPs believed he addressed clumsily.

On the other hand, Nominated CS for Gender and Affirmative Action Aisha Jumwa Kanana was not left out. She was accused of Murder where she and her bodyguard allegedly Shot dead aman identified as Ngumbao Jola in Kilifi County.

Additionally, Concerns about Njunguna Ndung'u Njeru's experience and suggestions that the President appoint someone with experience to the docket pose additional obstacles to his acceptance.

The causes of the objections made on Njunguna Ndung'u have not yet been made public.

Should the Wetangula-led committee recommend their acceptance in its reports, Azimio MPs are also anticipated to provide a separate report to the House.

On Tuesday, October 25, the National Assembly is anticipated to discuss the report. If any of the five nominations are turned down, President William Ruto will propose replacements, who will also be examined by the committee.
