Uganda Cranes: Coach Abdallah Mubiru names provisional squad ahead of South Africa friendly match.

Uganda Cranes coach Abdallah Mubiru has named the 34-man provisional squad ahead of a friendly match between South Africa to be played on 12 June, 2021.

Ismael Watenga who plays for Chippa United in South Africa will lead in the goalkeeping position which includes, Azam FC’s Mathias Kigonya who has gotten a nod alongside Lukwago Charles and Tamale Simon who plays for the local teams.

Foreign players have also been included in the squad dominated by local players. They include, Taddeo Lwanga, Patrick Kaddu, Emmanuel Okwi, Mustafa Kizza, Allan Okello, Moses Waiswa, Elvis Bwomomo and Abdul Lumala. The captain will be Emmanuel Okwi.

The detailed training programme and travel schedule of the foreign based players will be confirmed.

Bafana Bafana and Uganda Cranes will use this friendly match to mend up their pieces after a disastrous AFCON 2021 qualification campaign.
