The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has announced that it will carry out interviews for the party’s flagbearer on Saturday.

Deputy President William Ruto is among two other aspirants, namely Tracy Wanjiru and Orina Jephanei, to be interviewed for the position.

Through its Secretary General, Veronica Maina, the party announced that it had received nominations letters from the different presidential aspirants.

The party's Secretary General confirmed that the party was in possession of the aspirant’s applications and that it would conduct the interviews and the verification of documents at the party headquarters.

We write to invite you for verification of documents and interview to determine your eligibility as a Presidential Candidate. This will be held on Saturday, March 12. 2022 at 8:30 am, the venue being Hustler Plaza,” read part of the statement by the party Secretary General.

The party also instructed the candidates to provide other important documents such as a National Identification Card, a coloured passport in soft copy, a proof of payment of the nomination fees original and copies of academic certificate and an updated resume.

The party invited Orina Jephnei, one of the presidential aspirants through the party ticket, to present his petition during the same event.

Mr Orina had requested for a waiver on the nomination fees. The party’s nomination fee is one million.

After the interviews, the party is expected to conduct a National Delegates Convention (NDC) on the 15th of March, 2022, at the Kasarani indoor arena.
