KNUT secretary general and ODM nominated Member of Parliament Wilson Sossion seems unending. Mr. Sossion has been deregistered as a teacher by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) on numerous grounds in the latest happenings. According to Employment and Labor court Justice Stephen Radido, Mr. Sossion had to be deregistered by his employer by violating a number of codes.
Back in 2019, TSC warned of deregistering Mr. Sossion after being nominated as an MP, claiming that he had politicized the office he held initially, which was meant to champion the interest of teachers and not political grievances.
Justice Radido also claimed that Mr. Sossion did not come out clearly and defend his office, given that he had been given prior notice.
The verdict was also welcomed by the current TSC boss Nancy Macharia who reiterated that Mr. Sossion had abused his office on numerous occasions. Mr. Sossion is now left to appeal after his initial pleas through the government gazette not to deregister fell into deaf ears.
