Mwai Kibaki's Funeral Procession Underway In Othaya
The burial service for late former President Mwai Kibaki is currently underway at the Approved Grounds in Othaya, Nyeri County.
Today's burial follows Kibaki's State funeral service on Friday at the Nyayo National Stadium, which was attended by various heads of State and governments.
According to the Principal Administrative Secretary (PAS) in the office of President Kennedy Kihara, his burial in Othaya is expected to draw at least 15,000 mourners.
Kibaki's body was transported by road from Nairobi to Othaya early in the morning via the Thika superhighway.
The following is the burial schedule:
7 a.m. - 10 a.m.: The State Funeral Procession leaves for Othaya, Nyeri via the Thika-Expressway. The Cortege is at rest.
The Funeral Mass will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
