Speaking on a radio interview, the ANC party leader said the president has not yet honored the promise he made at Hannah Mudavadi.

All we are doing is to wait for the contractor to come on the ground and then say he has fulfilled his pledge,” Musalia told Radio Taifa.

During the burial of Mama Hannah Mudavadi on January 9, 2021, the Head of State promised that the government would construct the 18-kilometer road leading to Musalia’s Parent’s home.

"We have agreed that in honor of the departed, we shall work on the road we used coming here starting from Mango which is 18 kilometers. Before the end of three months, the work on that road will have begun,” the President announced.

Since joining Kenya Kwanza, Mudavadi has been among the vocal leaders that have called out Kenyatta's administration. This has seen him come under sharp criticism from leaders from the region claiming that he was ungrateful.

One of Musalia’s critiques Central Organization for Trade Union (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli told him that his statements lately would lead to his downfall.

Mudavadi was given assistance by the President as a friend. Today he has no shame standing on a platform bashing Uhuru. Mudavadi will go down for disrespecting someone who helped him lay his mother to rest," Atwoli stated.

In his response the Kenya Kwanza Co-principal said that Atwoli’s statements were so disrespectful to his late mother.

Atwoli, my mother died a year ago. What is your problem with her? Let her rest in peace. What is wrong with Ruto’s mother, let her be. Respect the women of this country. They are mothers," he responded.
