Nine officers attached to the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) were on Saturday morning airlifted to Nairobi for specialized medical attention.

This is after their bus got an accident on Friday (yesterday) along Nyamira to Miruka road. The team was on their way to a final send-off in Nyamira. Unfortunately, their bus lost control after failed breaks, before hitting the pavement and finally settling.

"Nine service personnel and three civilians sustained soft tissue injuries, and were rushed to Nyamira County Referral Hospital for treatment" stated Nyamira OCPD Amos Omariba.

The bus was towed to Nyamira Police station, with a KDF chopper deployed to evacuate the officers from Nyamira referral hospital, for specialized medical attention.
