Kang`ata Contracts Covid-19 For The Second Time In Eight Months

Irungu Kangata has contracted Covid-19 for the second time in eight months and is said to be recuperating from home. This comes as the country grapples with the third wave that has had devastating effects in the last month.

The former Senate Majority Whip said that he first got infected last August and followed the necessary Covid-19 protocols by self-isolating after being hospitalized. The legislator now says that the second time came on March 16th and after hospitalization, he is now recovering at home.

He further added that he suspects contracting the disease at a public function. This comes shortly after the Senate announced that they are reducing the sitting days in parliament to a week because of rising cases of covid-19 infections.

Senators endorsed the motion brought about by Majority leader Samuel Poghisio to revise the House`s calendar and reduce the number of sittings. The lawmakers agreed that they will only be sitting on Tuesdays until June 15.
