Jackson Masista, a former police driver, claimed Justice Sankale, via proxies; Peter Wanyama and James Sapuro, tried to silence witnesses. Masista was the Judge’s personal driver for around three years or so, between 2015 and 2018, before he retired.

Justice Sankale Allegedly Threatens Witnesses in the Cohen Case

Justice ole Kantai’s former driver has put him in a bind after revealing in court that the Justice had tried to threaten witnesses linked to the Cohen murder case.

Details of the Case

The Judge linked to the case because of his involvement with Sarah Wairimu, Tob Cohen’s widow, is apparently known for having questionable morals and has an eye for married women.

According to an affidavit filed in the High Court, Masista claimed that Sapuro and Wanyama tried to blackmail him alongside others close to the matter into not giving evidence to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations about the heinous Cohen murder.

In the affidavit, Masista swore, “That in the recent past I have been receiving incessant calls from the advocate representing Justice Sankale ole Kantai, one Peter Wanyama via mobile number 0721884689 warning me against giving any information to DCI on any matter touching on Sankale and or making any disclosures to anybody on matters touching on the judge.”

Apparently, Sankale’s lawyer, Peter Wanyama, sent him texts via WhatsApp telling him to avoid communication with him claiming DCI officers might have tapped their lines. Masista also claimed that he was forced to change his number because of the constant calls he was getting from Kantai’s brother, Sapuro, and his lawyer, Wanyama.

Sankale’s Love Interests

The former driver also told the court about the Judge’s memorable exploits and interactions with women, many of whom are other people’s wives. The witness revealed how he was ordered on numerous occasions to drop off and pick up the Judge’s lady acquaintances who hadn’t been formally introduced.

The witness stated to the court, “Though I cannot vividly recall the dates and specific times, I can recall that at some point we spent three nights out with the Judge and one of his female acquittances at Amboseli National Park. For the three nights we spent at Amboseli, Sankale was in the warm companion of his girlfriend”
