Barchok & Ruto Make Truce Ahead of Saturday Meeting
Bomet Governor Prof Hilary Barchok and former Governor Isaac Ruto have addressed a joint press briefing in Bomet, in an effort to send a signal of unity to the area residents and Kenya ahead of the coming elections.
This is seen as a strategy to mend the already broken fences as was witnessed during the last rally attended by the Deputy President.
The two sides clashed during the rally attended by other key UDA leaders including Aden Duale and Rigathi Gachagua.
Prof Barchok assured residents of peaceful rallies by his opponents , mending fences and that there is no war between UDA and CCM.
“ I urge the residents to remain calm and welcome all the aspirants to campaign in all their places of residence.”
The Governor also stated the Bomet was a priority and therefore leaders will not and never incite citizens to cause chaos ahead of the public prayer meeting scheduled for Saturday.
Isaac Ruto who spoke appreciated the fact Kenya is a multi party state and that in Bomet all residents in Bomet respect all the parties.
‘’ Bomet County respects all the parties and that all leaders should be respected. What will happen is a prayer meeting for all Bomet residents. This is a rally for all parties and cautioned ctizines against donning of affiliate parties colors. said Ruto.
Among the leaders who attended included former CAS John Mosonik and other Kipsigis elders led by Paul Leleito.
