Malaria has been reported among top 10 killer diseases countrywide. The ministry of health in association ha organized varius stations across the country to mark the World Malaria Day. The activity is to enlighten people on the dangers of the disease.

Children below the age of five, pregnant women, travellers and those living with HIV and AIDS are at the highest risk of contaminating the disease. 

Early signs of malaria include fever and headaches. When it gets severe, the symptoms are fatigue, dark or bloody urine, abdominal bleeding, jaundice and difficulty in breathing.

Deadly as it is, malaria can be prevented and is even curable. Getting rid of of stagnant water bodies which attracts mosquitos is the most advised means of preventing malaria. Medics also advice on sleeping under a treated mosquito net, especially children and expectant women. 

Once early symptoms have been detected, it is advised for immediatemedical attention to cure the disease.
