Woman Hit & Killed by Military Ambulance in Kibera

A 70-year-old woman was killed on Monday 21st morning in Kibera while she was crossing the road at 42 kianda to go and purchase meat from a nearby butchery kiosk. It is believed that the woman died after a speeding military ambulance that was trying to overtake a lorry ran over her.

From the deadly incident, the victim`s head was crushed leading to the splattering of her brain on the tarmac road.

Confirming the incident, Kibra sub-county deputy commissioner Gideon Ombongi stated that the police and additional military officers had been deployed on the scene to quell the growing tension.

However, the armed military soldiers resisted the enraged townspeople who attempted to torch the military truck.

Mr. Ombongi added that inquiries into the incident have commenced, but advised residents to remain calm.

At the time of publishing this article, the body of the deceased was still at the scene.

In a similar occurrence today, a middle-aged man was struck by an overspeeding Minibus while crossing the road at Riverside underpass.

The man was knocked out but suffered only minor injuries. The van that had hit him sped away without coming to a halt.
