Wamatangi: Why I Left Jubilee Party for DP Ruto’s UDA
Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi has explained his move to ditch the ruling party Jubilee and join Deputy President William Ruto's UDA party.

In an interview on Citizen TV on Thursday Morning, Wamatangi argued that UDA was the most popular party in his home county.
“I don’t have a problem with Jubilee, the people of Kiambu told me to move to UDA,” he said.
According to Wamatangi, he was ready for any disciplinary action against him by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“I welcome disciplinary action if it comes. I am not one of the agenda. I do not behold any positions,” he said.
On Sunday, Senator Wamatangi joined the Ruto-led United Democratic Alliance party ahead of the August elections.
During the Kenya Kwanza rally at Thika Stadium, Wamatangi said the decision to switch camps was made after intensive consultations between him and the electorate.
"I am not here to joy ride. I am here because this is the place that I need to be. I have talked with the women in the market, the youth in their jobs, and the men in their homes, and even with my own family, and all of them have told me that UDA is the party I should join," he said.
Wamatangi is eyeing the Kiambu gubernatorial seat.
He will battle out with Chama Cha Kazi Party Leader Moses Kuria, Thika MP Jungle Wainaina, former governor Ferdinand Waititu and Tujibebe Party Leader William Kabogo.
