Wajir Governor Ahmed Mukhtar's security beat up a motorist for overtaking the motorcade.

On Monday, November 1st a report by people daily indicated that the victim, Mohammed Abdullahi Nur, sustained injuries that led to him being hospitalized.The incident took place at Buma Airstrip on Saturday, October 30 the victim told the police.
A police officer said that the driver was also accused of using foul language against the governor and his entourage. It was reported that the assault left the victim unconscious before he was transferred to Wajir Referral Hospital where he is receiving treatment.
"It was later established the reason for the assault was that the said driver had obstructed the governor's convoy and used foul language against the security detail." The victim was later rushed to Buna Sub-County Hospital while unconscious where he was referred to Wajir County Referral Hospital," read the police statement in part.
The victim was reportedly attached to a Member of the National Assembly who was also to attend the event. North Eastern police boss Rono Bunei confirmed to the press that his team had taken over investigations into the matter.
“The matter is being handled by security teams on the ground,” he stated.
