The Bipartisan Meeting

A parliamentary sitting is expected today in Machakos with the Azimio la Umoja leaders. The meeting is set to discuss the bipartisan formation agreement between President William Ruto and Raila Odinga.

The meeting comes a day after the president jets into the coutry after a two day visit to Rwanda.

Among the issues to be discussed is the high cost of living, the IEBC servers to be opened. and the IEBC staff to be reshuffled.

The president had on Sunday urged Raila to stop the bi-weekly demonstrations which has led to distractions of businesses and vandalization of property. Two lives have been claimed from the protestors, among which a baby was killed by teargas in Kibera.

From his recent speech, Raila had set new rules ahead of the bipartisan agreement. He also said that the demonstrations are just suspended and would resume if his demands were not fulfilled. The country is now awaiting the decision from the two leaders.
