Kapsaret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi and his Soi Counterpart Caleb Kositany have apoeared before the Nakuru DCI headquarters to answer on claims of plotting the Friday attack on Raila Odinga.

The two Members of Parliament were addressing a press after appearing before the Nakuru Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

The duo was summoned before the investigating agency after the DCI said that preliminary investigations into the Friday attack on Azimio flagbearer Raila Odinga indicated that the two were the prime suspsect to have plotted the attack.

The two MPs were summoned together with Uasin Gishu county deputy speaker David Kiplagat.

"In view of the foregoing, the two legislators and County Assembly Speaker have pursuant to Section 52 of the National Police Service Act 2011, been summoned to appear in person before the Rift Valley DCI Regional coordinator on [Sunday] April 3, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. for further investigations into their involvement in the incident," read the summons by DCI.

The Azimo Flagbearer was attacked on Friday when he was attending the burial ceremony of Jackson Kibor in Uasin Gishu County.

Later, the ODM party leader experienced a similar incidence in Elgeyo Marakwet County where his motorcade was stoned during a political rally.

Speaking after the summon, Sudi said that investigative agencies in the country were being used to settle political scores.

The Kapsaret MP went on to list instances where people supporting the government have not been brought to book.

The three leaders were accompanied by Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri who is also an ally to Deputy President William Ruto.

According to reports by the National Police service, 17 people have been arrested concerning the same matter and cases against them to be prosecuted once investigations are over.
