Police say that the woman who vanished with a man's car and Ksh 700,000 was involved in a traffic accident.
According to Naivasha Sub-County police chief Samuel Waweru, the woman slammed the vehicle while speeding away on Monday night, along Kiambu.
‚ÄúThe suspect was driving towards Nairobi when she rammed a vehicle headed in the same direction. Passengers in the hit car sustained head injuries. One more vehicle was also damaged during the accident,‚ÄĚ he stated.
According to the police, the woman was apparently in the company of another man at the time of the collision.
They went on to say that the suspect managed to flee, promising to track her down using the wreckage of the towed vehicle.
‚ÄúThe wreckages of the vehicles were towed to Kabete Police Station. We have crucial leads that will help us track down the suspects,‚ÄĚ police added.
The two had met in Mai Mahiu town, according to the man who had traveled from Narok, to discuss the sale of a piece of land that the woman was purchasing.
The woman persuaded the elderly guy to spend the night with her in Naivasha town later that day, claiming that it was too late for him to go back home.
Due to his bad night vision, he agreed to let the woman drive to Naivasha town.
They came to a halt along the route after the elderly gentleman requested that she pull over so he could relieve himself.
The woman allegedly rushed away as he was in the said process, leaving the man stranded on the Nakuru-Nairobi route.
