Purity Museo To Join KTN

Purity Museo, a news anchor with Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC), has quit the national broadcaster and is set to join KTN.

Museo announced her departure from KBC on Tuesday, May 17, after anchoring the bullet with Tom Mboya.

The KBC anchor also announced the news on her official Twitter account.

"For everything, there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. It’s been a great honour working for the national broadcaster, KBC Channel 1, for the last three and half years. It’s another season for me. Glory to God. Thank you, my viewer, thank you, KBC," she wrote.

Tom Mboya is a seasoned industry veteran, who Museo recognized for working alongside her.

Museo was co-anchoring the 9 p.m. newscast with Tom Mboya, who returned to the national broadcaster after it relaunched a year ago.

Museo will join the Standard Media Group's Kenya Television Network (KTN). Her new responsibilities include anchoring news and creating and reporting on health shows.

She credited her achievement to her dedication and a drive to finish what she started.

“I knew that nothing would be handed to me on a silver platter, and that is why I worked hard and found my way to Ebru TV, where I was looking for an opportunity even as a volunteer. I knew that telling the gate guards I was looking for a job would be a sure way to have my dreams scuttled at the entrance," she narrated.

Museo is a Moi University graduate who worked as a housekeeper to raise tuition fees after her parents died.

She started her media career as a volunteer health reporter and anchor at Ebru TV in 2016 and transferred to KBC in November 2018.

Museo is an award-winning journal that was recently named Personality of the Year at the ZIKOMO Humanitarian Fashion & Music Awards.
