New Details On Kenyan In India Knife Attack Incident

Preliminary investigations by Indian authorities investigating the knife attack event in India on Thursday, June 2, have revealed new details on the case.

The 50-year-old Kenyan national who stabbed eight people has been said to have some underlying mental health issues.

According to the Indian police, the man revised his account about what drove him to attack random individuals on the streets.

"During the investigation conducted so far, it came to light that the accused seems to have some mental health issues. He changed his versions and also spoke about God,” the Indian authorities stated.

During the court hearing, detectives investigating the incident's CCTV footage claimed that the Kenyan national had been spying on the area for about two months before committing the crime.

Police are also investigating whether the incident was motivated by terrorism. They're also questioning his friends and family.

The detectives are also trying to figure out how he got into India and what he did there.

The accused person was ordered to be detained till Monday by Mumbai police investigators, giving them additional time to conduct further investigations.

In defending himself, the Kenyan refuted the claims and instead referred to the Bible, saying that his attackers will be punished by God.

"If you leave me alone, I will not complain about you. I will not file a case against them (the police). The living God is going to punish them," he stated.

On the other hand, the condition of those stabbed and injured during the incident has yet to be revealed by the Indian police investigating the issue.
