Jacque, Jowie Killed Business Woman Monica Kimani -Witness Says

Following along battled murder case in Court, a final witness told the court that former citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe and now Kenyan artist Jowie Irungu jointly murdered the juba-based business woman Monica Kimani on 19th September 2018.

The witness, who showed the court materials gathered during the investigations and presented them as exhibits, said that Joseph Irungu and Jacque Maribe murdered the 29-year-old Juba-based businesswoman in September 2018.

Officer Otieno stated in his statement that the accused was apprehended leaving the scene of the crime at Lamuria Gardens at 2335 hours, based on forensic examination of call data. According to Jowie's pal Jennings Orlando:

Jennings met Jowie at 11:40 pm where the accused met him on foot at a petrol station before boarding the vehicle belonging to the 2nd accused person Jacque Maribe,” submitted the officer.

According to eyewitness testimonies, Joseph Irungu was also the deceased's final known companion before her death.

The witness further said the two accused persons presented contradictory testimonies to investigative teams regarding Joseph Irungu's injuries inside Jacque Maribe's house in Royal Park Estate. The two claimed Jowie was attacked by thugs, but an investigation revealed that the injuries were self-inflicted with a neighbor's pistol.

According to the police, the two were seen together at Club 40 Forty in Westlands practically immediately after the incident on September 20th till 4 am.

However, Brian Kasaine, then Jacque Maribe and Jowie's neighbor at Royal Park estate in Lang'ata, said the latter called him at 2 a.m. on WhatsApp, asking for paraffin or air freshener to burn some stuff which he later did outside their residence.

“On September 20, 2018, while asleep at around 2 am, I was awakened by Irungu’s WhatsApp call asking for paraffin. I got surprised at such a request for the items by him at such a late hour. I replied and told him I did not have any item requested by him,” he told Justice Grace Nzioka on Wednesday.

The accused also stated that a friend had stabbed someone the night before. During a search in a trench in front of the accused's compound, officers discovered some partially burned materials resembling a white kanzu.

Eyewitnesses, including the deceased's neighbor Jennings Orlando, and guards at Lamuria Gardens during interrogation, said the accused, Joseph Irungu, was dressed in a white kanzu, a maroon cap, and a grey coat on the night of the murder.

Furthermore, Jacque turned off her phone at about 2225 hours, which officer Otieno believes is the time of the murder, then turned it back on at 0952 hours on September 20, 2018.

The prosecution presented things gathered throughout the investigation and submitted them as exhibits. They included a specimen was taken from the deceased's body, Jacque Maribe's car, apartment A8 at Lamuria Gardens, and the Royal Park Estate, where the jointly accused resided.

The case is slated to be heard on July 11th this 2022.
