Ex- PS John Konchellah Loses Firearm at a club In Nairobi

Ex Principal Secretary for East African Affairs, Commerce, and Tourism, John Konchellah, on Tuesday, June 14 lost his firearm loaded with 9 nine of ammunition at a club in Nairobi.

Confirming the incident Kilimani OCPD, Andrew Muturi, stated that PS had been to various places in the Central Business District (CBD) before heading home when he later realized that his firearm was missing.

The Kilimani police chief recounted the incidents and mentioned that Konchellah bought a car on Tuesday before going to a restaurant for lunch in Kilimani.

The former government employee then went to a club in Nairobi before returning home later. When he got there, he realized he had left his gun behind.

Konchellah's weapon was equipped with nine rounds of ammo, according to OCPD Muturi.

"Yes, investigations are still ongoing in order to locate the pistol," the police boss stated.

However, the PS later reported the matter at Kilimani police station where he noted that he had been an authorized fireman holder for eight years.

"The former PS said he first visited Car and General to purchase a motor vehicle, then he went to have lunch at Golden Spot located in Kilimani area before heading to a club and then later home where he discovered that he did not have his pistol, which was loaded with 9 rounds of ammunition,” Muturi noted.

Apparently, if you're a firearm holder then you happen to lose it, you're required to report the matter at any nearest police station failure to which you risk the punishment of 1-year jail term imprisonment or a fine not exceeding Ksh10,000. This is according to the firearm act 2012.
