The man hacked his mother to death in the bathroom before fleeing the scene, shocking the neighborhood.

Responding to the distress calls, neighbors discovered the elderly woman lying in a pool of blood and called the cops.

Mwea East sub-county police chief Daniel Kitavi said his officers acted quickly after learning of the gruesome murder and discovered the victim's body inside the main house.

The body was taken to Kibugi Funeral Home as police search for the suspect.

After being confronted by the deceased's grandson, the perpetrator, who was only named, fled to an unknown location.

He made his way inside, only to discover his grandma on the ground, bleeding profusely from a major cut on her stomach, left hand, neck, and left leg.

The body was sent to Migori level 4 hospital, where an autopsy was scheduled.
