Motorists using super petrol will be forced to pay high for the fuel after the government increased the fuel price by Sh.0.77 per litre pushing to price to Sh.127.14 in Nairobi.

However, kerosene and diesel users were spared in the hike with the price of the two remaining unchanged for 4 consecutive months.

In Nairobi, Kerosene and Diesel will cost Sh.97.85 and Sh.107.66 respectively while in Mombasa, Super Petrol will cost Sh.124.72.

EPRA in a statement said, “In the period under review, the price for super petrol increased by Sh.0.77 per litre while that of diesel and kerosene remains unchanged.”

Diesel which is largely used by transporters and manufacturers will be selling at Sh.108.46 in Kisumu and Kerosene will cost Sh.98.68.

According to EPRA, the average cost of imported super petrol increased by 1.52% from $488.69 per cubic metre in April to $496.10 per cubic metre in May.

Diesel increased by 5.08% from $439.60 per cubic metre in April to $461.95 per cubic meter in May while Kerosene average cost of import increased by 4.41%.
