This follows orders issued by the High Court after the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and other petitioners challenged the list on the grounds that it lacks regional and tribal balance.

The petition also stated that the list lacks the two-thirds gender rule provision and that people with disabilities, as well as youth, were never considered.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, the House is obligated to uphold and respect the rule of law and will therefore postpone the vetting process "until further notice."

Departmental Committees, which began the vetting process on Monday, are also prohibited from engaging in any activities related to reporting to the House.

Wetangula also stated that further proceedings will resume based on the court's instructions.

Meanwhile, the UDA coalition has assured that they will welcome the High Court's verdict and will have President William Ruto go back to the drawing board if necessary.
