On Wednesday night, Philip Lokurwen, aged 40, admitted to killing his wife and three children in Ndalat market, Nandi county.

The man surrendered to the Kipkaren Salient Police Station, confessing to killing his wife, Rispa Chelimo, 35, and his children, aged 11, 9, and 7, following a marital conflict.

Eunice Luley, the area chief who was among the first on the site, verified the occurrence, saying that the dead had been brought to the Kimbilio hospital mortuary for a post-mortem.

Luley stated that the bodies had been taken to a hospital mortuary and would be subjected to a post-mortem examination.

Area residents were angry to the point of wanting to lynch the man for the act he committed. The suspect is being treated for nursing injuries he received from people at the Kapsabet County Referral Hospital.

Assistant Chief of the area, Gilbert Chepkwony, says that the suspect arrived home on Wednesday night and attacked his wife for supposed infidelity,

The children are reported to have defended their mother, an act that enraged the man who killed them with a kitchen knife.

The police have launched an investigation to find out more details about the heinous murders that have shocked the entire town. The motive behind the crime is yet to be established as much is yet to be known.
