KOT Reacts as Most of Ruto`s CS Nominees have Pending Court Cases

According to the KOT President Ruto appointed some CSs with pending murder and criminal court cases.

Ruto`s appointment saw former Malindi member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa landing a Public Service, Gender & Affirmative Action job.

For instance, in 2019, The Ex Malindi MP was facing murder charges in connection with the death of Gumbao Jola in Ganda, Malindi Constituency.

Gumbao was shot after a scuffle ensued during a by-election in Kilifi County that year.

Jumwa appeared before the Mombasa Law Courts in April 2022, when her bodyguard Geoffrey Otieno was charged with opening fire on a crowd and murdering one of the victims.
However, the two pled not guilty and rejected the accusations.

Notably, Mithika Linturi, a former senator from Meru county and the nominee for the Agriculture docket was also charged in court in February 2022 for making anti-Semitic comments.

Luckily enough, a court in Nakuru dismissed the case after finding that the police and the prosecution missed the deadlines for presenting evidence, according to Chief Magistrate Ednah Nyaloti.

Additionally, Linturi was also accused of attempting to rape a woman in a Nanyuki hotel in September 2021. However, he denied the allegations and was later freed on a Ksh500,000 case bond. He dismissed the allegations, calling them politically motivated.
