Keroche Warns to Lay Off 250 Workers Citing Frustrations From KRA

While addressing the press in Naivasha, the CEO Tabitha Karanja announced this after KRA warned the 36  banks in Kenya to desist from lending to the local brewery something that sparked the sentiments by the CEO that they will be forced to take the actions. The tax collector also went ahead to shut down the operations of the breweries following the complaints of tax evasions by the brewery.

KRA  and  Keroche breweries have been in a serious push and pull with the taxman accusing the brewery of defaulting taxes in their operations, something that forced the tax personnel to move with the speed to cripple  Keroche operations.

According to the CEO, the brewery will not be able to sell alcohol worth 512 million because of the KRA which has moved to stop its operations.

“ KRA closed the operations of the Keroche and further  issued notices to all the 36 banks which collapsed our operations since we could neither produce, sell nor access any finances from any of the banks to assist in settling the arrears.” Said Keroche CEO Tabitha.

The CEO has decided to join politics because of the frustrations she has faced with an aim to introduce laws that will be friendly to all the business people and entrepreneurs like her and allow them to conduct business with ease.

Keroche who was once a vibrant brewery will be bedeviled by financial constraints as they seek to re-strategize and reorganize their operations to meet the taxman demands.
