The office of the Government Spokesperson on Thursday notified Kenyans that the presidential portraits of President William Samoei Ruto were available for purchase.

Kenyans Can Purchase Presidential Portrait At Ksh 300

"Following the inauguration into office of H.E Hon. William Samoei Ruto as the President of the Republic of Kenya, we wish to inform our people that presidential portraits are now available.”

Kenyans interested in purchasing the presidential portrait will be able to do so from a number of information departments located all over the nation at Ksh 300.

According to the statement, the photograph will be accessible to Nairobi residents at the Department of Information at Uchumi House on Aga Khan Walk in the Central Business District (CBD).

The government indicated that the portraits may be obtained through a number of county and sub-county offices run by the Ministry of Information, Communication, and Technology in the remaining 46 counties (ICT).

"Offices and individuals at the county and sub-county levels can get their copies from County/Sub-county Information Officers."

The former president Uhuru Kenyatta's image is typically replaced with that of the current President William Ruto in various offices and companies to signify a change of guard.

Although having the portrait is not mandatory, previous administrations have issued several orders requiring Kenyans to display the photograph in their workplaces.

For instance, the Ministry of Interior issued a warning to traders in 2016 if they were discovered to be operating without the portrait.

However, the State House responded by saying that the portrait was not mandatory when Kenyans raised the matter.
