Christian Kadima, the Congolese national who is accused of killing Nairobi lawyer, Elizabeth Koki, pleaded not guilty.

Kadima was arraigned before Judge David Kimei at the Machakos High Court on Tuesday, February 9.

The prosecution revealed that the West African underwent a psychological test and proved that he was fit to stand trial.

A team of defense lawyers led by advocate Kwisero Langalanga has been handed seven days to formally file an application for bond/bail.

The case is set for mention on March 2, 2021, for pre-trial directions/bail hearing.

Kadima was represented by several advocates including Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi and Vice President Caroline Kamende.

Koki was a practicing lawyer and co-owner of Githinji and Koki Advocates. She was brutally murdered on January 7, 2021, at her home in Syokimau, Athi River.

Kadima who is linked to her death was allegedly spotted leaving Koki's house the day before her body was discovered by a housemaid in her bedroom.
