With the head of state backing Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga as his potential successor,  it is expected that he will rally his Mt. Kenya troops to support the former premier for the top seat.

Kenya Alliance has indicated they do not need an endorsement from the president that he should not meddle in succession politics so as not to soil his legacy.

According to the leader of the Majority in the parliament Amos Kimunya, Deputy President Ruto has been disrespectful to his boss and has since gone ahead to verbally insult the head of state.  Kenya Alliance team had warned the president to retire in peace and allow him to compete with the Azimio team on fair ground.

With the reports indicating that the head state will spill the beans on his Deputy, this has caused jitters in the Kenya Kwanza alliance with them threatening him to go on with what he intends to say.

The Deputy  President’s dalliance with the president has hit rock bottom and their fallout has been capitalized by the Azimio team who has characterized the second in command as ungrateful and unfit to lead the country because of the unfulfilled promises.

As the sagana convention gathers momentum, what are the expectations, Can the president make a surprise move on who should be the Mount Kenya spokesperson?
