Kenya airways turns deaf to the covid-19 situation in India as it vows to continue flying to the Covid-19 stricken Asian nation.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the national airline said that it has already enhanced safety measures that will lessen the risk of transmission.

“Passengers are only accepted on KQ flights upon presenting a valid Covid-19 test result certificate,” KQ noted in a statement.

The statement added that India provides a channel to fly medical equipment and drugs into the country.

KQ maintains that India will remain to be a key destination even with the massive Covid-19 cases registered daily.

As at today, India has recorded more than 18 million covid-19 cases with over 200 000 death cases.

The sharp increase is, however, attributed to the shortage of oxygen the hospitals, medical supplies and insufficient medical staff due to continuous surge in the cases reported daily.

The country has been requesting for urgent world intervention as the hospitals have been overwhelmed.

This has led to the setting aside Crematoriums adjacent to the hospitals.

In the past one week, India has been recording over 300 000 positive cases daily.
