Viazi karai is basically potatoes dipped in highly seasoned mix of water and wheat flour paste then deep fried in oil.

Homemade Viazi Karai Recipe

Here is a simple and quick recipe that you can use to make tasty viazi karai.

Ingredients

6 large sized potatoes

½ a cup of all-purpose flour

A teaspoon of salt

One teaspoon of paprika

½ teaspoon of yellow food color

¼ cup of water

Enough cooking oil for deep frying

Preparation

Peel, wash and dice the potatoes to your preferred size

Boil the potatoes in water and salt until half- cooked

Mix all the dry ingredients (flour, food color) and spices in a bowl

Add water to the bowl and stir to a thick paste

Deep the boiled potatoes in the paste to give them a nice coating

Heat the oil on medium heat

Place the coated potatoes in the oil and deep fry until they turn crispy

Serve and dress your viazi karai with kachumbari and sauces of choice
