Grade 6 Children Can Enroll In Private Junior Secondary Schools, Magoha

Parents can enroll their children in private JSS provided that the school has been approved and inspected by the Ministry of Education.

According to Prof. Magoha, the government has already given parents more time to have their kids choose the junior secondary schools they want them to attend in grade 6.

He emphasized that parents still have one week left for their kids to finish the selection process and make their choices available on the Ministry's portal.

“For parents who want their children to go to private schools, if the school is not in the portal, and the school has been approved for junior secondary school, nothing stops you as a parent from walking into that school with your child and getting the child admitted in the school,” CS Magoha said

While speaking in Kericho County today, Magoha said that the private primary schools that were to become junior high schools had to have a functional laboratory and be examined and certified by the Ministry of Education.

He also noted that most private schools nationwide had cooperated with the Ministry of Education directive, with only a few schools still working on it.

The CS urged parents and guardians to permit their children to study and prepare for exams in a conducive atmosphere despite the political events taking place in the nation and pleaded with the political class not to interfere with the academic activities of the children in schools.
