Ex Kenya`s President Uhuru Returns to Twitter
Former Kenya`s president Uhuru Kenyatta has made a huge comeback on Twitter barely three years after he left the interactive social media application.
The former president came back on Twitter as "Office of the 3rd Retired President of Kenya" and posted an activity he spearheaded in Nairobi at Safaripark Hotel.
"H.E. (Rtd) Uhuru Kenyatta, Facilitator of the East African Community (EAC)- led Nairobi Peace Process arrives for the official opening of the Third Inter-Congolese Consultations of the Nairobi Peace Process, the political track, Nairobi III at Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi County."
Uhuru further added that the consultations were a follow-up to the Inaugural Inter-Congolese Peace Consultation (Nairobi I) that was held in April 2022.
"These consultations are a follow-up to the Inaugural Inter-Congolese Peace Consultation (Nairobi I) that was held in April 2022; the 2nd Inter-Congolese Peace Consultations, a scoping and mapping mission in Ituri, North Kivu & South Kivu which took place in May 2022 in the DRC.".
"This culminated in the 22nd Ordinary Summit of the East African Community Heads of State and Government, which appointed H.E. (Rtd) President Uhuru Kenyatta as the EAC Facilitator of the Nairobi Peace Process".

Mr. Kenyatta further added that the meeting's main aim was to accelerate the ongoing regional efforts to attain sustainable peace and security in Eastern DRC.
The verified Twitter account was the first to be suspended. When one could Search for UKenyatta, the feedback could be "Sorry, that page doesn’t exist!".
Uhuru further revealed why he had to deactivate all his social media accounts especially Twitter and Facebook.
“Mimi nilitoka Twitter kwa sababu huko ni matusi tu ... afadhali nipige story na mama, nilale, niamke nifanye kazi (I left Twitter because of many insults. I’d rather have a conversation with my wife, sleep and work),” he said amid laughter.
He added that Twitter only served to waste people’s time.
“Unakaa hapo unasoma, hulali. Unapiga simu unauliza vile umetukanwa (You get sleepless nights after going through Twitter. You keep calling to ask about the insults),” he added.
He revealed it during the launch of the collection of signatures for the Building Bridges Initiative {BBI] process which was held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi in 2020.
