According to the post, the prayer session will take 1 hour although the venue of the event has not yet been shared.

The post also shows that the prayer session will majorly be conducted in order to pray for peaceful and fruitful elections which will be held on August 9.

"Wherever you are I, humbly request you to pray for peace and unity of our nation and a peaceful election," part of the statement read.

Various leaders across the country, including church leaders, have come out to promote unity and peace as we approach the general elections.

Kenyans have been urged to choose their leaders wisely and be guided by the values and manifestos of the various candidates.

All persons and institutions charged with responsibilities that touch on elections such as the IEBC, the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP), the police, the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), political parties, and the candidates have also been urged to be well prepared, transparent and act within the law.

All contestants must respect one another, exercise restraint, and refrain from making insulting or inflammatory statements that could incite ethnic hatred and violence.
