Delivery Of Motorsport Equipment To Argentina Delayed By Plane Breakdown In Mombasa

The plane, which was flying from Lombok to Tucuman to supply Argentina GP materials, had a mechanical problem, forcing authorities to redirect it to Mombasa.

The Argentina Grand Prix is set to take place this weekend, and the materials should have arrived by now to ensure the best possible preparations.

The materials, which include motorcycles, are expected to arrive in Argentina on Wednesday or Thursday afternoon due to a lack of an immediate alternative.

The incident has huge on the motorsport event because most of the athletes missed the first day of practice.

According to news reports, the mechanical issues are fixable, but there is a chance of even more unanticipated issues. This suggests that the Argentina GP is not yet free of all risk, and that the delay could have a more catastrophic impact if it lasts longer.

“At the moment there is a risk that some teams will not be able to take part in the free practice sessions on Friday, since the forecast is to land in Tucumán at noon, and from there to Termas it is about 80kms, and other delays such as customs formalities, shipment by truck are expected,” the participants were informed.

The delays were communicated to the suppliers of materials and other necessities.
