Cyrus Oguna Urges Kenyans To Stop Complaining About High Taxes

In a press briefing on Tuesday 16th, March 2021 Cyrus Oguna asked Kenyans to stop complaining about high taxes but instead support the government by paying the taxes. He added that the government is not a business entity and that it solely depends on the citizens to meet its obligations including payment of salaries and development agendas.

Oguna stated that even in developed countries citizens even pay higher taxes pointing out Europe where he stated that the amount they pay is nothing compared to what Kenyans are paying.

This remarks came amidst growing public distress over high cost of living that has been worsened by the Covid-19 pandemic which has brought about loss of income to many.

The situation is even getting worse for citizens after the government last week announced a huge rise in the cost of fuel which is expected to have a great impact on the cost of living.
