The 25-year-old victim was stabbed three times in the chest with a Masai sword; according to Bomet central sub-county police head, Musa Omar, the victim was found sprawled on the doorway, indicating that she may have attempted to flee the attack.

According to reports, the officer, 35, stabbed himself in the stomach with the same sword and was found unconscious on the floor of their home.

Neighbors who heard the ruckus hurried to the scene and rescued a nine-month-old baby who had been left sobbing in the house after the two had gotten into an argument.

The officer was transferred to Tenwek Hospital in critical condition, according to Mr. Omar, while his wife's body was taken to the Longisa County Referral Hospital Mortuary.

"They were living together as a family. They have a 9-month-old kid, and their neighbors describe them as pleasant. They have been living in peace for quite some time," the officer stated.
