A Guardian bus service representative from the Kisii office verified the tragedy, however, she did not specify the quantity of passengers, the extent of the injuries, or whether any deaths were reported.

According to reports, a number of the passengers were seriously hurt in the collision.

The accident happened seven kilometers away from the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital, where the injured passengers were taken.

Residents and service providers are presently helping the injured as emergency rescue operations are ongoing.

By the time of publication, the accident's cause had not yet been determined.

The Kisii branch of Guardian Angel has confirmed that a statement on the incident will be issued by the Nairobi headquarters.

Meanwhile in Nakuru, three people lost their lives when a 14-passenger matatu and a fast trailer collided on Ngata Bridge.

The early-morning accident severely damaged one side of the Nissan matatu van, which was transporting an unknown number of people.

The front and back wheel sidewalls of the trailer also suffered significant damage. The injured were rushed to local hospitals for first aid care.

The Ngata Bridge in Nakuru is a notorious death trap that has claimed numerous lives in the past.
