A 4-Day-Old Baby Strangled To Death By The Mother
A 19-year-old mother in Webuye, Bungoma County, has been arrested for allegedly killing her baby after giving birth to it four days ago.

Police in Webuye have arrested a teenager suspected of strangling her 4-day-old baby. The baby had been placed in the nursery after birth at the Webuye County Hospital.
Martha Ngetich, a police officer at the Bungoma East police headquarters, has confirmed the arrest of the teenage girl.
“We have arrested one nineteen-year-old girl who has been associated with the murder of her newborn after giving birth in the Webuye County Hospital,” she said.
Martha further said that the girl delivered on the 14th of this month and is suspected of having killed her baby on March 18.
The Webuye County Hospital reported the matter to the police, prompting them to arrest the girl.
The motive for the mother strangling her baby has not yet been established.
The police are thus investigating the matter to reveal more about the incident and determine what led her to do such an act to the innocent newborn.
